The Rockband Roadie advantage

Why Rockband Roadie?

All your songs in one place

The app keeps a database of all your songs so that you never forget a song you rehearsed months ago

Keep track of rehearsals

You can instantly see what the band rehearsed last time, or a song/piece shows when it was last rehearsed - the song list can be sorted by rehearsal history..

Instant access to recordings

Never forget how a song was played last time. You have it at your fingertips!

Simple To Use

How it works

Set up list of songs

Start by importing your existing list from a CSV file, and then add new songs directly in the app. Lyrics can be added for direct access when rehearsing.

Add a rehearsal

Add a rehearsal, either before or during the session. Songs can be added from the song list, and are shown in the order they are added/played. This history is shared with the song list, so it's easy to see when a song was last rehearsed, or to see what was rehearsed last time.

Record audio

Use the recordings tab to make a recording of either a song, or the entire rehearsal. The audio files are available under the Files app in the RockbandRoadie folder and can be shared from there.

Usage

How Do I...?

During the rehearsal, log each song or piece played. Songs can be added on the fly if they don't already exist in the database, but for those that are there already, they an be searched for and added with a couple of taps.

These are stored to the app's database as the basic for statistics such as what was relearsed last time, or to check when a song was last rehearsed.

The list of items in the Songs tab can be sorted by last rehearsal date, so that it's easy to see which haven't been played in a while.

Note that each item in the song list can be swiped right to left, which has an option to delete the song from the rehearsal, but also to jump to displaying the lyrics/chords for that song/piece.

There are two ways to set up the repertoire: enter the songs or pieces directly, or import from a csv text file. If imported this way, songs will only be added that are not already in the list.

None of the fields are mandatory, though it makes no sense to save a blank song. It is perfectly ok to have duplicates, as there may be multiple versions of a song in different keys or styles.

Tapping on the Lyrics button when maintaining a Song brings up the Lyrics page. This is initially in read-only mode: tap Edit to add lyrics and chords. These can be pasted in when copied from a website.

Once loaded, if there are chords above the lyrics, the Transpose button can be used to easily move the chords into another key. Note that the key from the song data doesn't change, as it is assumed that this is the target to which the lyrics will be transposed.

Recoding is very simple: hit the record button and stop when finished. The details of the recording can be edited to provide more information, such as the particular song recorded.

The resulting audio file can be accessed, played and shared from the RockbandRoadie/recordings folder in the Files app on your device.
